Day 1:
Nagoya - Nakasendo Magomejuku (Samurai Trail) - Gero Onsen
Meet your English-speaking guide at Nagoya station. Transfer by private car to Magome-juku, one of the post towns of Nakasendo. The Nakasendo is an ancient road that has existed for about 450 years. Walk along the road where old stone cobblestones remain and savor the experience of traveling the way countless other ancient travelers have made the same journey for hundreds of years. In the evening, spend a relaxing time at the historic and atmospheric onsen town, Gero Onsen.

Day 2:
Gero Onse - Seki - Gifu, Nagaragawa Onsen
You will start this day by visiting the Morning Market for local food and crafts. Then visit the city of Seki, the Sword Capital of Japan. Here, bladesmiths have been making swords, knives, and cutlery for 800 years. Transfer to Gifu city and visit Gifu Castle, the historical base of Nobunaga Oda, one of Japan’s most renowned samurai leaders. Enjoy strolling through the Kawara-machi district, one of the oldest surviving areas of Gifu City. In the evening, you may enjoy Ukai Fish that has been performed in Gifu for 1,300 years in which the fishing master used cormorants to catch sweetfish.

Day 3:
Nagaragawa Onsen - Sekigahara (Samurai Battlefield) - Nagoya
Today, visit Sekigahara, the site of the most famous and most important samurai battle in Japanese history. At the Sekigahara Battlefield Memorial Museum, learn about the history of the battle through exhibits and commentary. Far removed from the commotion of that fateful day in 1600, the battlegrounds today are a tranquil place offering beautiful views of the Japanese countryside.
