Day 1: Osaka/Kyoto - Sekigahara - Nagaragawa Onsen

Departing from the Osaka or Kyoto area, the journey begins with a visit to Sekigahara in Gifu Prefecture. There, you’ll enjoy a hands-on samurai experience by donning traditional armor at the historic battlefield of Sekigahara—where you can feel the intensity and strategy of Japan’s most pivotal conflict. In the afternoon, transfer to Nagaragawa Onsen, a serene hot spring town nestled along the clear waters of the Nagara River with views of Mount Kinka. Melt away your fatigue by relaxing in the famed ""Shogun's bath"", hot springs steeped in history and surrounded by nature.
In the evening, savor a special dinner featuring the flavors of Gifu: melt-in-your-mouth Hida beef, fragrant grilled ayu sweetfish, or nourishing herbal cuisine. It’s a culinary journey that reflects the region’s rich natural bounty and cultural depth.

Day 2: Nagaragawa Onsen - Gifu city - Nagaragawa Onsen

Begin the day with a visit to Gifu Castle atop Mount Kinka. Take the ropeway up and enjoy panoramic views of the city and Nagara River from this historic site and breathe in the legacy of Oda Nobunaga, the great warlord. Next, stroll through Kawaramachi’s old town district, where traditional wooden houses and artisan shops evoke the spirit of Edo-era Japan. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with stops at local cafés and craft stores. In the evening, witness the magical tradition of cormorant fishing on the Nagara River. Fire-lit boats and skilled fishermen create a captivating scene, with Gifu Castle glowing in the background—a perfect finale to your day.

Day 3: Nagaragawa Onsen - Hashima - Nagoya

On the final day, visit Asano Kajiya to experience the traditional art of Japanese sword forging. In the workshop filled with flying sparks, you’ll witness the craftsmanship and spirit of master swordsmiths up close. After the experience, transfer to Nagoya to conclude your journey—marking the end of a trip rich in history and artisanal skill.
