At Gion Corner, enjoy some of Japan’s traditional performing arts such as a traditional Kyoto dance, tea ceremony, flower arrangement, koto music, bugaku (court dance and music), kyogen (traditional Japanese comic theater), bunraku (Japanese puppet theatre), or a noh play. (Either bunraku or noh depending on the season.) . Experience a candle-lit tea ceremony, something available only on this tour. Relish a Zen-style dinner focused on vegetarian cuisine.

Walk to Gion Historical Preservation District

Walk from Hanamikoji-dori Street, lined with historic teahouses and restaurants, to Gion Shimbashi, an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.

Tea Ceremony and Dinner at Gion Yoshiima

Enjoy an exclusive private evening tea ceremony with candle light at Gion Yoshi-Ima's tea ceremony room Kurenaitei. Dinner will be served in Zen style, a simple but wellbalanced dietetic meal now attracting global attention.

Tour ends at Gion Yoshi-ima.

After dinner, the tour ends at the location. Gion Yoshi-Ima is situated in a convenient location in central Gion district, making it ideal for an evening stroll around Gion after dinner. Reference (access from Gion Yoshi-Ima to nearest stations):

- Gion-Shijo Station (Keihan Railway): about 5 min on foot. - Sanjo-Keihan Station (Subway Tozai Line): about 5 min on foot.

- Kyoto Kawaramachi Station (Hankyu Railway): about 7 min on foot.

- JR Kyoto Station: about 15 min by taxi.

-If the minimum number of participants (2) is not met by 4 days before the scheduled date, the tour on that date may be canceled.

- Bookings may be made until 9:00 on the day prior to the tour departure date (for Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the deadline will be advanced to the preceding weekday). Please make a reservation on the system. *For April departure dates only: Bookings may be made until 9:00 14 days prior to the tour departure date (for Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the deadline will be advanced to the preceding weekday). Please make a reservation on the system.

- Connections from Kyoto Afternoon Tour and Kyoto 1-Day Tour are available. After visiting Kiyomizu-dera Temple, customers will leave from the aforementioned bus tour and make their own way from Kiyomizu-dera Temple to Hotel Okura Kyoto, and join the night tour (customers will shoulder the taxi fare). *Connections from Nara Afternoon Tour, 1-Day Kyoto & Nara Tour, and 1-Day Uji & Nara Tour cannot be made to this tour. - Children under 7 years of age (0-6 years old) may not participate.

[Important Notes/Supplements: Regarding Meals]

Buddhist vegetarian cuisine is served for dinner, so we welcome vegetarian participants. However, bonito stock is used in the tempura dipping sauce. Salt can be used instead of the tempura dipping sauce. The ingredients of tempura are tofu, namafu wheat gluten, yuba tofu skin, and vegetables in season, such as eggplants, lotus root, ginger, and shiitake mushrooms. Miso soup and rice are also served
