Day 1: Osaka - Himeji - Kinosaki Onsen


Depart from Shin-Osaka Station.

Arrive at Himeji Station. Enjoy self-sightseeing. 
 
• Himeji Castle
The iconic castle at the heart of Himeji is arguably the most impressive and best-preserved in all of Japan. Its status as one of Japan’s 12 remaining original castles makes this fortress a must for anyone interested the history of Japan.
 
Depart from Himeji Station for Kinosaki Onsen on JR Limited Express train.

Arrive at Kinosakionsen Station. Explore the historical town. 
 
• Strolling the onsen town
Kinosaki Onsen, one of many famed onsen towns in Japan, is situated in northern Hyogo
Prefecture. Whilst the town is small in size, it is easily accessible by foot and boasts old-fashioned charm including wispy willow trees that line the Otani river flowing through the town’s center. This becomes particularly picturesque at night when the river reflects the lighting of both the lanterns and neighboring stores. 
 
• Kinosaki Ropeway
The view from Mount Daishi at the top of Kinosaki Ropeway was awarded one star in the Michelin Green Guide Japan as a spectacular view.
 
• Onsen-ji Temple
A hot spring’s guardian temple in Kinosaki Onsen with rich history regarding the town’s hot spring waters.
 
Stay at ryokan in Kinosaki Onsen (Onishiya Suishoen or similar) 
Enjoy dinner at ryokan.
 

Day 2: Kinosaki Onsen - Osaka


Enjoy breakfast at ryokan. 
Take a stroll in town until your departure.
 
• Genbudo Park & basalt caves
Genbudo Park is a national natural monument designated in 1931. The park contains five caves, which feature unique hexagonal columns of basalt rock.
 
Depart from Kinosakionsen Station to Osaka on JR Limited Express train.

Arrive at Shin-Osaka Station.
