Traveling With Pets

Pets Traveling In The Cabin Pets Traveling As Checked Baggage
International flights: No pets allowed on board except for assistance dogs
Flights up to 12 hours long (excluding transpacific routes)
Cats and dogs are the only types of pets accepted on American Airlines.
Dogs and cats must be at least eight (8) weeks old for travel.
The one way fee is $150 per kennel
Hard case carriers is 18 x 12 x 8.6 inches (48cm x 33cm x 22cm )
Soft case carriers is 18 x 11 x 11 inches (46cm x 28cm x 28cm)
Per the ticketed passenger only one pet in the kennel
Must be stored under the seat in front of you
Currently pets are NOT ALLOWED
(Excluding active U.S. military personnel and U.S. Department of State employees working overseas)
United may accept your dog and cat.
You can bring up to 2 pets per person.
However, you must buy 2 seats on your flight if you’re bringing 2 pets.
Kennels may not exceed any of the following dimensions:
Hard case carriers is 17.5 x 12 x 8.6 inches (44cm x 30cm x 22cm)
Soft case carriers is 18 x 10 x 10 inches (45cm x 27cm x 27cm)
The one way fee is $125 per kennel
There is also a $125 fee for each layover of more than four hours for flights within the U.S. and more than 24 hours internationally.

Pets permitted in the cabin include dogs, cats, and household birds.
Your pet must be at least 8 weeks old for US domestic and at least 15 weeks old for international flight.
The one way fee is $200 per kennel for international flights and $95 for domestic flights.
Brazil route $75
Your pet must be small enough to fit comfortably in a kennel under the seat directly in front of you.
Maximum carry-on kennel dimensions are determined by your flight.
You may not carry on more than two pet.
Limited to the first four pets on board
Pets are not allowed in BusinessElite/Business Class on the following aircraft:
A330, 757-200ER, 767-400, 777-200
Currently pets are NOT ALLOWED

Carry-on pets are NOT ALLOWED
Assistance dogs or such are permitted to be carried in the passenger cabin free of charge when they are traveling with their owner and the owner is entirely dependent on the assistance dog or such for mobility.
Dogs and cats must be at least 8 weeks of age to travel.
(French Bulldogs and Bulldogs are not accepted.)
The one way fee is $400 per kennel.
Kennel dimensions
(Medium size) 32cm x 32cm x 39cm, Weight: 7.4kg
(Large size) 45cm x 54cm x 41cm, Weight 11.5kg
Carry-on pets are NOT ALLOWED
Disabled passengers accompanied by dogs, such as seeing-eye dogs or hearing-ear dogs, are able to travel together under animals in cabin service.
From May 1st to October 31st, short-nosed dog breeds* will not be accepted.
(*Bulldog, French Bulldog, Boxer, Shih Tzu, Boston Terrier, Bull Terrier, King Charles Spaniel, Tibetan Spaniel, Brussels Griffin, Chow Chow, Pug, Chin, Pekingese)
The number of flights accepted and the fees vary depending on the flight, so please contact the airline direct.
The total weight of the pet and cage must be less than 45kg and the sum of the three sides must be less than 292cm.
The one way fee is $300 per kennel.
Carriage of pets in the aircraft cabin is not permitted, with the exception of service dogs. Pets cannot be checked in on the Boeing 737 cargo hold as it does not have temperature control.(Mainly operates on Singapore-Southeast Asia routes)

Checked pets are not included in the free baggage allowance.
Limited to pets 3 months or older.
If the total weight of the pet and its cage exceeds 32kg per piece, please make arrangements for your pet(s) to travel via cargo instead.
